Squanto

Squanto was a Native American who had learned English from fishers that had landed on the coast earlier. He was a key part in keeping the peace between the Native Americans. He had served as a translator between the Wampanoag tribe and the pilgrims. He also taught the pilgrams ways to survive like planting crops and scavaging for food. I believe that without Squanto or another Native American who spoke English and was willing to help the pilgrims the colony would of failed by either a limited ammount of supplies or by being wiped out by the Native Americans. While towards the end of Squanto's life both sides began to distrust him, all of the life-saving actions squanto did for the pilgirms will never be forgotten.
