The Stupidity of the Salem Witch Trials

The Salem Witch Trials were nothing more than a catch-22 for the people involved in it. If someone didn't name another person or admit that they practiced witchcraft they were punished for practicing witchcraft, but if they just confessed when they actually weren't practicing witchcraft they were allowed to live. The fact of innocent until proven guilty would of been a great thing to have for the people that were being punished even though they weren't guilty because it could have saved their lives. Also the fact that the girls were just naming names to not get in trouble for the dances that they were doing in the woods was a little ridiculous because they could name anyone they didn't like and they would be put on trial as a witch.
